This is a full-time, twelve-month staff position. A flexible work schedule is required with occasional nights and weekends. Holidays, sick days, vacation days and other fringe benefits are covered by the College’s policy for full-time administrators. This job description will be updated periodically. However, duties, qualifications, and responsibilities may change at the discretion of the College at any time. This position will require travel to all three campuses; Blackwood, Cherry Hill and Camden. Minimal lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling are required. Dexterity in working with computers is mandatory.

Job Description

Oversee the daily coordination and functioning of all open access computer labs. Provide comprehensive customer service to faculty, administrators, students and visitors. Maintains the working order of lab equipment and supplies, which may include troubleshooting both hardware and software. Hire, train, supervise and coordinate the employment of lab assistants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provide full-time coverage for all open access lab information desks, working independently, and using professional judgment to respond to a variety of customer service requests.
• Answers questions about College-wide services and directs visitors, faculty, staff and students to services at each campus.
• Coordinates work schedules among student employees to cover all open hours and may work as a lab assistant if no student employee is able to work at a regularly scheduled open lab time.
• Hire and provide ongoing training and supervision to student lab assistants regarding computer software, hardware and lab procedures.
• Attends staff training sessions as required for maintaining updated service delivery skills.
• Assures that student self-service computers are turned on and off; reports any technical problems to OIT.
• Provides direction and support to students seeking tutoring services.
• Supports record keeping activities for all open access labs.
• Travel to all campus sites on weekly basis mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• Five (5) years of customer service experience.
• Demonstrated superior judgment/problem solving skills.
• Good verbal communication skills; bilingual helpful.
• Excellent computer skills; experience with both Windows and Mac desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Three (3) years of experience in a computer lab setting involving customer service, computer facility management and troubleshooting.
• Experience in assessment and planning processes; supervision and coordinating the work of others.
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
